Bringing Ukrainian and sustainable glassblowing techniques to the UK glass market

In the year 1992, TOR embarked on its journey in the realm of glassware manufacturing. As the years rolled on, the industry's traditions flourished, infused with new technologies and the changing global landscape, which in turn has influenced its evolution.

30 years in the making

"TOR" Enterprise (Tor Glass) came into being under the guidance of Zynoviy Bokiychuck, and over the span of three decades, it flourished not only for its excellence and innovation in crafting glass tableware, decorative glassware, and artistic glass items, but also for its dedication to environmentally friendly practices and innovative approaches.

Transforming the production facility into a hub for research and innovation, the shift from conventional natural gas or oil usage to electricity for glassmaking and annealing became a hallmark of this transformation.

From Ukraine,
to the United Kingdom

In 2010, a new chapter unfolded as Zynoviy joined forces with successful businesswomen Inna Yurchenko. Owner and founder of brand TEAMO, Inna was responsible for the unfurling of a network of Home Decoration stores across major Ukrainian cities, and a specialised production studio, where innovation thrived, and products for homes and gardens were conceptualised, fashioned, and introduced to the market. Inna's skillful orchestration encompassed design, material sourcing, and budget management, catering to esteemed clients like prominent Ukrainian DIY retailers and HomeDeco wholesalers.

Working with Tor Enterprises on one of her projects, a significant juncture materialised, marking the inception of a partnership with Zynoviy that has already spanned over 13 years.

The synergy of Zynoviy's glass expertise and Inna's adeptness in engaging with expansive retail and wholesale entities paved the way for the establishment of a UK-based company, thus facilitating the introduction of TOR Glass to the UK market.

Ukrainian techniques, Polish glassmaking craftsmanship.

In 2020, Tor Glass’s momentum was disrupted first by a quarantine and later by war, leading to a halt in glass production in Ukraine. Faced with these challenges, Zynoviy resolved to transplant the production to Poland, a country with a robust glass production sector. The products offered are an exquisite fusion of cutting-edge Ukrainian techniques and traditional Polish glassmaking craftsmanship. It’s central Europe location, as well as being near the freeway allows for easy shipping across Europe and beyond.
